A History of God's Faithfulness
1990s
1996
The New Life Evangelical Church was started by Rev.Richard Rajkumar, its first gathering was held at a private home.
1999
The church started its new ministery among the fishing community
2000-2010
2004
For the first time, a thatched (koorai) roof was built for the church in a rented facility
2005-2008
God used Rev.Richard Rajkumar mightly to reach many people in and around Poonamallee area with the Gospel of Christ. Many accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior as they came to Christ from other religions. By the grace of God, Many were Baptised and they joined the New Life Evangilical Church.
2009
Thiru Pandian provided us with the land, and with God's help, we were able to construct our own small church building.
2010-2020
2011-2014
Rev.Richard Rajkumar became very sick, yet the ministery was growing. God was touching and changing people's lives.
2014
Rev.Richard Rajkumar completed his race on Eath and went to meet his savior. The leadership of the church was entrusted to Pas. Amala Mary, who is the wife of Richard Rajkumar, while Pas. Deborah Linda assisting in the ministry.
2015
Following the passing of Rev. Richard, the Church encountered numerous challenges. Despite the sorrowful year, we were upheld by the grace of God. Adversities strengthened us, prompting a renewal of our dedication and confirming the vision bestowed upon us by God.
2016
Through fervent prayers over an extended period, divine providence granted us the financial means necessary. Consequently, we were able to acquire the land dedicated to the establishment of our Church.
2019
We started buliding the Church but we were not able to complete because of the covid-19 pandemic.
2020-Present
2020
As a result of the pandemic, worship services were held online. Nonetheless, we were able to minister effectively to all members of the Church and extend our reach beyond our usual boundaries.
2022
After resigning from his job in Kuwait, Rev. Edwin Wellionton, the son of Rev. Richard, joined NLEC as a full-time ordained Pastor to minister the Church. With Rev. Edwin's leadership, we were able to successfully complete the construction of the Church building as originally planned.
December 5, 2022 - We dedicated the Church for the glory of God.
2023
Through the renewed vision of Christ and by the grace of God, we have been able to reach many individuals who were previously unaware of Jesus. In just the first three months of our ministry in 2023, we baptized thirteen people in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. God's touch is transforming lives, and day by day, many more are being added to the Church.
